Dementia
Our experienced and trained staff are committed to providing the very highest standard of care and all of them have received extra and on-going training in the unique nature of dementia.
We train our staff to gently accompany our clients, who suffer dementia, as they experience the various phases of memory loss on a day-to-day basis, prompting and helping them as appropriate.
The warm and welcoming environment of Woodford House is adapted to meet the needs of residents with dementia in order for us to offer as much independence and stimulation as possible within safe boundaries.
We recognise that no two people are the same and our care programmes are designed to work with each client’s individual personality. We create a home-from-home environment for all of our clients and those suffering from dementia are encouraged to be independent and live with dementia rather than simply exist.
We provide a range of activities designed to provide gentle exercise and help with life skills, including reminiscence and music therapy whilst also importantly promoting self-esteem
